Repost time! I'm still riding a bit of a high from finishing "Corner of Your Eye," the first long fic I've finished in years. In fact, the last long fic I finished was this one. In 2005. Isn't that pathetic? I'm still proud of this one, too. It actually has, like, a plot and stuff. And character development. And it deals with some pretty weighty issues through my OCs. Author’s Note: Sequel to “Sam, Son of Adam,” which was written for the Fandom Firsts Crossover Challenge at [livejournal.com profile] sn_crossovers. I wrote that ficlet simply because the idea wouldn’t go away, but more just keep coming. I hope this will exorcise them. Writing in Narnia still feels like trespassing. These books are sacred ground to me, and I have the nagging feeling that I can never, ever do justice to this world.

In case you’re curious, no, the theology of this doesn’t really work at all. Let’s just pretend that it does, hmm? Emotionally, at least, it seems to make sense.

So, off we go. Once more down the rabbit hole. I hope we don't drown.

But here it is, a nice boring, slow-paced chapter to contrast with the fast-paced, interesting ones that came before. (Why doesn't html have a < sarcasm > tag?)

Even as she stared, the card-chips in her hand flickered and changed, randomized by the small device in the middle of the playing area. Beside her, the colonel made a disgusted sound. Apparently his winning hand had now become a losing one. Or something. Teal’c, of course, had the perfect poker face. Or sabbacc face. And Lindle always looked gleeful, so how was she to know?
