A bunch of people at work dressed up for Halloween this year, including me. So here is a picture for you! Aren't you lucky. I'm on the right, in black and red.

To correct things from yesterday. Timberline is not a village, it is a small farming town. It makes a difference, just like there is a difference between being small and being tiny. Also, Josh noted on Facebook that Kazn grew up on a farm, not in a city. But he ended up in a city, right? That's what Kazn said to Viara when they met, and he asked where she came from, and she was very vague.

Yeah, and I jumped ahead of myself. Phineas didn't tell us about Ocheero, but just pointed us to the clerics of St. Cuthbert, the deity of justice and order, as possibly having something to do with the prison-breaking scheme. So Viara, Kazn and Pineheart headed for Timberline. We didn't find our fighter right away, though, because Gabe was still being not there, a trend that would continue. In the tavern was just a drunken constable in the corner. So Viara went to the town's chapel (conveniently devoted to St. Cuthbert), Pineheart waited outside for the promised monster-killer, and Kazn stayed inside the tavern to wait for the drunk to wake up and talk to him.

In the chapel were an old priest and a young priest, and one of them was named Conrad, though I can't remember which. The old one wouldn't talk to Viara, and the young one was quite nervous, but told her that if they did something to prove that they were good guys the old priest might help them.

Meanwhile Kazn was being very patient with this drunken constable, which Viara had not expected him to be. She wasn't sure that she was going to like the human wizard, at first, but she warmed to him, just for that. (Once she got back and heard what had been going on.) In any case, Kazn finally found out that the village was being harried by goblin bandits.

So, the fighter STILL hadn't shown up. And we three magic-users were quite nervous. (Level one, man.) But we went out, and fought the goblins, and brought back the leader tied up and chained to show the people that we were good guys. Our first fight did not go at all smoothly, as we were still learning to work together. Also, we accidentally let one of the wounded goblins die while we were talking about what to do with him, a trend that would continue.

Then the priests told us about the monastery and the monk and the password. And we went back to the tavern and a dwarf was there! Yay and huzzah!

And I don't remember where we ended, but it was probably after we went to the monastery and spoke with the monk, whom Viara accidentally called Ocheerio instead of Ocheero. This is where things start to get quite muddled in my mind. Anyway, Ocheero said that to get inside we would need to construct the key to the prison, which was lost, and quite complicated. We would have to go to the door of the prison, which would tell us what the key was made of. And on like that. And somewhere in there we snuck past some ogres, and the door told us that the key mold was hidden in some ruins somewhere, so we would need to find the ruins. Or maybe that was when we got beat up by ninja monks? I forget. Anyway. That's probably enough for now.
