crack_impala liked my AU 4.05 tag, and I've been getting an unbelievable number of comments and hits. (My counters are hidden, meant only for me to gloat over, like Gollum in the dark with his precious, but my goodness, guys, over a thousand hits on Monday! My highest day before that was maybe three hundred.)
You like me, you really like me! Gotta say I'm a lot like Dean in that I don't even like being singled out at birthday parties, but apparently I've been asked to strap on my party hat. I'm not complaining, not a bit of it! Still a little weirded out, but I suppose I'll get used to it. I will respond to every comment. Every single one of them gives me glee.

And in the meantime, here are a couple of recs for you. I'm still going to do an author rec post, but I want to take my time.
Awesome fic: OBX by PADavis is a very long and satisfying casefile/hurt/comfort fic with a beautiful sense of place, amazing descriptions that make you feel you're there, a very intriguing and unique MotW, and great brotherly interaction between Sam and Dean, both taking care of each other, both funny and clever and badass to the max. It's not quite finished, but the last chapter is scheduled to go up today. (ETA: Done now! Go read, read!) This is a fic for lingering enjoyment, and I'm glad that I read it as a WIP. Every day another chapter got posted was a good day. (This author will be in my author rec post, for sure.)
Awesome vid: God's Gonna Cut You Down bysaintmaverick is a beautiful exploration of Dean's journey so far in Season 4, his desperate attempts to run from the destiny that's been thrust upon him, the inevitability of God catching up with him. The music choice is absolutely perfect--Johnny Cash's voice is rough and weary, just like Dean must be feeling, and the black and white clips lend an atmospheric, spooky quality to the piece. I got goosebumps. I think this is the vidder's first one, so be sure to encourage her to make more! Imeem embedded below.
