12:08:55: I finished watching season 1 of the X-Files last night. I keep wondering what the fandom would be like if it was airing now.
12:09:29: What kind of meta would people be writing? I'm sure peeps would talk about the creepy little girl trope, which is prevalent.
12:10:21: And how almost everyone with a modicum of power is white, and male, how Scully is nearly always the one who needs to be rescued, not Mulder.
12:11:30: In many ways it's like a het version of Supernatural. Well, and not based in the lower classes, outside the law. The similarities are there.
12:12:07: Mulder and Scully sure touch each other a lot, though. More than Sam and Dean, I'd bet. And at this point it's all platonic.
12:12:44: If it was airing now, I might very well be in the fandom. Maybe. It doesn't quite have the family element that usually draws me.
12:13:50: Some of the episodes are not as creepy now as they probably were when they aired. Others creeped me out incredibly.
12:14:36: Definitely a show very rooted in the nineties. Even the plainest outfits scream "NINETIES" to me, somehow.
12:15:06: I'm enjoying it a lot, though. Season 2 so far has also been great. The Host was the most awful thing I've ever seen. ::shudders::
