I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day

chibifrieza alerted me to the fact that Casting Crowns had done a version of this song, so I had to go look it up. It's lovely and dramatic, but very different than the hymn I know, the one I meant for Jimmy to sing in the last Rain Falling Down story.

So go I searching and by yiminy, you guys, Johnny Cash did a version too! And he said it's one of his favorite Christmas songs. ♥

I also discovered that Longfellow wrote this poem when his wife died. Which just kind of makes me all wibbly now, thinking about John and Bobby listening to this.

So here's a nice smooth classic version just to round out the collection. This is the tune I've sung in church.
