may7fic tagged me to do Castiel in this character meme, and I mean, a chance to blather about Castiel? I AM SO THERE. Thanks, babe! ::smishes::

1) Do you like this character?

Uh...yeah! In his first episodes I was all like, oh, this is cool, an angel who is actually angelic and scary and badass and not a fluffy-winged halo-lugging fat baby or a backlit redhead. GD biblical, that's my angel, w00t! Smite the unholy, oh mighty smiter! Plus he understood Dean almost instantly, saw his lack of self-worth as well as his inherent goodness, and that endeared him to me.

As the season progressed and we came to know him better, I fell more and more in love with him. At this point my love for Castiel is almost equal to my love for SamnDean themselves, though those two will always own the vast majority of my heart. Certainly he is on par with Bobby for supporting-character awesomeness.

2) What name(s) do you call this character?

Castiel, and Cas, though I think that it should be used sparingly, and not by anyone else but Dean and occasionally Sam. Ugh, I was ticked when Uriel and Anna used it. ;) Also sometimes "angelboy" or "angelkid" in my Entertaining Angels AU, but that's just silliness, yes?

3) What image/color do you associate with this character?

Images...the first fantastic reveal of the wings, and the scene in my icon, where he goes all wide-eyed and childlike as he watches Anna reclaim her grace. And, of course, I will forever associate the whole trench-coat-and-messy-tie combo with Castiel. ♥

Colors, dark blue-grey (oh, those eyes!) and slightly greyish-white, purity slowly being tainted by the cares of this world.

4) What song do you associate with this character?

"New Soul" by Yael Naim. Though it's perfect for a "fallen" Castiel learning to be human, it also works for him as he is, slowly discovering emotions, realizing that he has doubts, trying to find a new place in his world. The sound of the song is very childlike and innocent, sweet and curious. I adore it fully.

5) What blood-type do you think this character is?

ANGELIC POWERRRRR. I'm sure it's all, like, glowing and rainbow-y and sparkly and stuff. Actually, I imagine that "grace" we saw in the vial as being angelic blood, the life-source of their spirits.

6) Which character do you like to put his character with?

I don't "ship" him with anyone, not just because I'm not much of a shipper, but because I still retain my views on angelic beings from my Christian upbringing, which really doesn't see them as sexual or romantic beings, though love is at the core of them. Platonicly, I totally like him being with Dean all the frickin' time, and Sam (so much potential there!). And I enjoyed exploring his relationship with Uriel, sometimes--I thought they had an interesting give-and-take and there were a lot of cool possibilities for their history as comrades and brothers-in-arms.

7) What would you want to say to this character?

The God I know is good above all other things, Castiel. He would not want you to go against your conscience. He gave you good instincts--listen to them.

8) What do you want to do with this character: shake hands, hug, or kiss?

GAH I WOULD HUG HIM FOREVER. But I would hug all of the SPN characters I love like that. Including Bobby.
