maychorianI would probably feel better if my very last pet mouse hadn't died in my hand while I was in the middle of watching this episode. My stomach kinda hurts. But you know. It was an awesome episode anyway.
OH GOB. Sam's face when Dean says "I'm full-frontal in here!" It was totally the "I just threw up in my mouth" face, and it made me laugh and laugh and laugh. And that was BEFORE the other stuff.
Though the "Gospel of Winchester" stuff did make ME throw up in my mouth a little bit, I won't lie. Way to respect your Christian fans there, Kripke. ::gives him the thumbs up:: Also, Luke was not a prophet by any stretch, man. He did RESEARCH. He was the Sam Winchester of the gospel writers, talking to eyewitnesses and traveling with the Apostles as much as he could, since he wasn't there to see it himself. Should have been John the Revelator, maybe. Or Daniel. Or Micah. Or Jeremiah. Or really, any actual prophet in the Bible.
But how awesome was Castiel? How awesome was he? Try to answer that one. YOU CAN'T! His awesomeness was off the charts. Oh, oh, those sly little looks at the end of that scene.
He looked so tired and conflicted through the heart of that scene, though. This is tearing him apart. ::pets him gently::
Also loved the confirmation of Sam's heart in this. He really does think that he's doing this to protect Dean, to take a turn being the stronger brother. He perceives Dean as weak, but it's not a mean thing. And he's not wrong. Though other characters keep telling him to rethink his motives, so maybe... And the way he said, "I wish I could stop." Awww, Saaaam. :(
The portrayal of the tinhat fan at the beginning was kind of unflattering though, wasn't it? I dunno how I feel about that. Some of the meta was a little too much, a little too brutal. And it had to be the only female character in the episode. Would it be so hard to have a woman as a prophet? Or even as a comic shop clerk? I dunno. This is not a big deal, but it is another tiny disappointment to add to the big, big pile. Supernatural is a man's world, forever and ever, amen. :(
