Good Lord, that was everything I ever wanted from a Supernatural episode. ::happeh sigh:: This whole season has been like that, really. I felt no need to write anymore tags or missing scenes or anything (besides that one for 5.1), because show is so awesome lately that all I can do is flail my arms in its general direction.

I absolutely adored the old school feel of this, Sam and Dean going after a hunt, though absolutely not ignoring recent events. I was genuinely creeped out by the ep, more than once--when Dean was under the car, when Sam was staring down wax!Lincoln. The little wax museum guy was deliciously adorable in his utter cluelessness and love for his chosen line of work, and it was fun to see that guy from Stargate: Atlantis still getting work. I even found the relentlessly practical sheriff somehow charming in his foolishness.

Dean's excitement over the James Dean car was freakin' adorable, too, as was the realization that Sam is a superfan of Ghandi. :D And his reluctance to say "fruitarian" because he knew Dean was going to make fun of it. Oh, boys. You are cute. And also sad, in that Dean still feels compelled to mock Sam's geekiness at every opportunity. It felt a little mean-spirited at times.

I was glad to find out that Dean told Sam that he broke the first seal. Wondered about that one. Dean was a big jerk to Sam in this ep, though, and not in a good way. Maybe he needed the chance to punish Sam for his sins, and maybe Sam needed to let him, but I hope it's out of Dean's system, now. Out of both of them, really.

Everything they said to each other was so exactly what needed to be said, too--Sam asking Dean to let him grow up, Dean finally apologizing at the end. ::happy, happy sigh:: Like I said, this was so exactly what I wanted. They're being so honest. And they're both trying so hard. Maybe they can finally be true partners now, maybe Dean can give Sam equal rights in the protecting-and-guiding department and maybe Sam can stand on his own without feeling like he has to push for ultimate control. I just...like I said, I have nothing else to add. That was everything I could have ever wanted from and for them.

Paris Hilton cannot act. Ugh. I'm glad they made her an MotW, at least, instead of a love interest or something. Paris Hilton as Paris Hilton is pretty much the only way she should be in movies or TV, I think. I still found her to be the only sour note in an otherwise practically flawless episode, though. And I'm not saying that because I'm a hater, either--I honestly have no particular feelings about Paris Hilton one way or another. I just found her scene extremely bland. If she had pushed just a little more, thrown in some mannerisms, given some interesting readings on her dialog--you know, if she had ACTED--she could have been entertainingly campy, maybe even creepy. But as it was she felt totally meh.

I can't be the only one who kept expecting her to look the boys up and down and say "That's hot," though, am I?
