::singing and dancing:: Weeeee got a new EPisode! Weeeeee got a new EPisode! ::waving hands in the air like she just doesn't care::
WOOOOO!
Through a strange and rare confluence of events, I actually managed to watch the episode
WHILE IT WAS BEING BROADCAST instead of waiting a day for a download. 1. I am living at home again and my parents have a digital converter thingy. 2. My Thursday gaming group is taking this week off. 3. My family went to Indy for a two-day field trip, so I have the house to myself and am free to watch whatever heathen shows I want. I don't think that these factors will come together again anytime soon.
It was so weird, srsly. For one thing, commercials SUCK. And oh, good gravy tomatoes, I went ahead and watched Smallville first, and without any warning at all there was an SPN promo and now I am slightly spoiled for stuff. :( :( :( :( (I turned off the sound for commercials after that and found other things to do, like making delicious grilled cheese sandwiches with poppyseed-mustard-mayo-onion spread. Mmmmmm.) But anyway.
Oh, Sam! No, Sam! No, Sam! Noooooo! ::falls to knees and shakes fists at the sky:: I talked to Sam a lot this episode, especially during the conversation with the kid. I said "No, Sam" about five different times with five different inflections. Just... no. Oh, I am so sad. :( And the not telling Dean the truth, and Dean knowing it and being so upset and Sam just goes on being a deny, deny, deny face, OOOOOOHH, SAM, this will be the death of me. :(
HOWEVER! Powers!Sam = slammin' hottie. Good caby babies. (No, I don't know what that means.) Eep, when he just MADE A FIST and oooh. ::more incoherent noises::
TESSA! She was awesome.
PAM! She was awesome.
CASTIEL! He was awesome.
ALASTAIR! He was creepy. And the lisp just makes it worse.
Oh, and the kid! ♥ When he was schooling SamnDean on how to be an awesome ghost. :D :D :D So cute, gah forby. But really, TWO references to The Sixth Sense? The kid's name is already Cole, and then you go and have him call out Haley Joel? :D So many cute moments. It was wonderful to have a touch of lightheartedness in the middle of all the horror and angst.
I liked the plot, too. It was interesting to see new stuff with the Reapers, and yay, protecting a seal! \o/ And it was a victory! \o/ And SamnDean did it themselves, with their own crazy plan and their own contacts and their own awesomeness! \o/
ACK, that opening scene in the diner, with Sam being all bossy and "get that to go," and then Dean just sits there chewing, and chewing, and chewing. :( :( His FACE. He's been chewing on this one for awhile. And no, Sam will never be able to convince him that he didn't mean that. Partly because he's still not being totally open with Dean, perhaps, and how you can trust one thing your brother says when you know for a fact that he's lying about other things? IT MAKES ME SO SAD.
BUT BUT BUT! We has an angel! ::long, high-pitched squee:: I MISSED YOU, CASSY-POO! ::hugs him exuberantly, then lets go and backs away quickly, remembering the whole lightning thing:: Um, I mean, welcome back, Castiel, angel of the Lord. Your presence is greatly appreciated. The lack of your angelic visage was a bane to the show, forsooth. It is a great relief to see you alive and well and still amazingly, incredibly smokin'...
Oh screw it.

That was another time I talked at the TV, for sure. Well, more like squealed and laughed and clapped so hard that I hurt myself and scared my ratties off my lap, and then called him "baby" and talked at him while the commercials were going on. E.g., "Oh, Cas, it's so good to have you back, baby! Did you change your hair? I think you might have changed your hair. That's a shame. Also, you look like you might've lost some weight. Come over to my house for grilled cheese. It's delicious."
LIGHTNING! That was fantastic.
Though I was genuinely creeped out by Tessa's hints at the end. WHAT THE HECK, SHOW? You trying to tell us that Cas is actually a bad guy or something? DO NOT WANT. Also, DO NOT BELIEVE. :( I will be so unhappy if Dean didn't actually having something good happen to him for once, because he so deserves it. He deserves to have an angel looking out for him just because he's DEAN, not because of ulterior motives. I will be so sad if that's not true.
And oh, Pam! :( She didn't deserve to die. Yet another person that SamnDean couldn't save.
As per usual, the end of the episode TOTALLY BUMMED ME OUT. This is getting to be a regular thing. ::sigh:: So many lies and half-truths and intimations of scary, scary things. AGH. This season is going to kill me dead.
